Description:

We are seeking a Senior Data Visualization & Analytics Developer to support a high-visibility, mission-critical environment within the Navy. This role is responsible for transforming structured, analytics-ready data into clear, intuitive, and actionable dashboards and visual products that support operational and financial decision-making. You will work closely with a data engineering / structuring lead who prepares the backend datasets, while you focus on designing, building, and refining visualization solutions that meet end-user needs. This is a fast-paced, Agile environment where requirements may evolve quickly and solutions are often needed within days.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using Qlik (primary tool)
  • Translate stakeholder needs into clear, user-friendly visual solutions
  • Work with structured datasets to:
    • Build dashboards
    • Create KPIs and metrics
    • Enable drill-down and filtering capabilities
  • Collaborate closely with the data engineering lead to:
    • Ensure data is properly structured for visualization
    • Provide feedback on data usability and gaps
  • Rapidly iterate on dashboards based on:
    • Stakeholder feedback
    • Changing mission requirements
  • Ensure visualizations:
    • Are accurate and aligned with source data
    • Are easy to interpret and actionable
    • Perform efficiently at scale
  • Support ad hoc data analysis and reporting requests
  • Participate in Agile workflows and coordinate through Jira / Atlassian tools
Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in data visualization, business intelligence, or analytics development
  • Expert-level proficiency in Qlik
    • Qlik Sense and/or QlikView
  • Strong experience:
    • Building dashboards and reporting solutions
    • Designing user-friendly visual interfaces
    • Creating KPIs and business metrics
  • Ability to:
    • Translate business requirements into visual solutions
    • Work with structured datasets provided by data engineering teams
    • Iterate quickly in fast-paced environments
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Data relationships and data modeling (for visualization purposes)
    • Dashboard performance optimization
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with:
    • Power BI
    • SQL (for basic data validation and querying)

  • Familiarity with:
