General Summary

Applications submitted to this position will be considered for full-time or temporary hourly OPS positions.

The Florida Senate invites job seekers to apply to our general applicant pool to be considered as a District Legislative Aide. Candidates may support any one of the forty Senators in a specified work location/county in either a full-time salaried or temporary position.  The successful candidate will be assigned to physically report to an office location in Florida for work and may be required to travel within an assigned district and/or to Tallahassee. This position is not eligible for telework.

This is work assisting a Senator with a variety of administrative and public relations matters requiring a thorough understanding of the policies, procedures, and operating practices of the Florida Legislature.

 

Financial Disclosure: Pursuant to sections 112.3144 and 112.3145, F.S., full-time salaried Legislative Aides are required to electronically file a Form 1 -Statement of Financial Interests with the Florida Commission on Ethics within 30 days of hire.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • For Salaried positions:
    • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of administrative experience.
    • A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for the one year of required experience.
    • Professional or nonprofessional administrative experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
  • For Temporary/Hourly OPS positions:
    • A high school diploma or its equivalent, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and work experience.

 

Salary/Wages

For Salaried positions: Salary commensurate with experience.

For Temporary/Hourly OPS positions: $15.00
