Job description

WORLD WIDE PROFESSIONAL SOLUTIONS is a project solutions organization committed to implementing lean constructions, collaborative contracting, and execution approaches to enable breakthroughs in performance.

World Wide Professional Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Dry Mechanical Project Manager/Superintendentย to support a large-scale semiconductor manufacturing construction project in Lafayette, Indiana. This role will oversee all dry mechanical installations, including cleanroom HVAC, subfab mechanical systems, process support spaces, chilled water and hydronic systems, exhaust systems, makeup air units, rooftop systems, and associated utility infrastructure.
ย
The Dry Mechanical Project Manager serves as the discipline lead within the construction execution team. This position requires extensive experience in semiconductor facility mechanical systems, strong field leadership, and the ability to coordinate across EPCM partners, design engineers, trade contractors, commissioning teams, and the client's technical representatives.
ย
This role will support design development, installation oversight, mechanical completion, system walkdowns, and turnover activities. The position also works closely with the EPCM Work Package Owner (WPO) to ensure that dry mechanical scope is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project requirements.
ย
Local candidates highly preferred. Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the USA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide subject-matter expertise and early design-phase guidance on semiconductor cleanroom HVAC, MAUs, process exhaust, hydronic piping, and dry mechanical system concepts.
  • Lead the installation of all dry mechanical systems including AHUs, RTUs, ductwork, exhaust systems (general, HEPA, chemical, solvent), chilled water, hot water, and supporting mechanical infrastructure.
  • Oversee design coordination related to cleanroom airflow, subfab mechanical routing, tool hook-ups, and equipment placement.
  • Support the project's energy efficiency and sustainability requirements, including system optimization and best-practice mechanical routing.
  • Assist with site-wide clash detection, space coordination, and constructability reviews using 3D model platforms such as Navisworks or BIM-based modeling tools.
  • Review and recommend approval for mechanical specifications, installation standards, hanger/support systems, pipe rack and duct bank designs, and construction details.
  • Assist with determining optimal duct and pipe routing philosophies, system boundary definitions, and alignment with commissioning requirements.
  • Participate in model reviews with EPC, AE, and construction teams to ensure mechanical design is compliant with semiconductor cleanroom and manufacturing standards.
  • Support tendering and procurement activities for mechanical packages, including scope review, bid evaluations, and contractor engagement.
  • Assist in reviewing contractor submittals, RFIs, and design clarifications with the EPCM engineering team.
  • Monitor construction progress, track performance, and resolve field-level mechanical issues.
  • Conduct detailed system walkdowns to validate installation quality, verify readiness for mechanical completion, and support turnover documentation.
  • Provide oversight and coordination of TAB (Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing) activities, including cleanroom airflow performance and system readiness.
  • Interface with contractors, engineers, and project teams to drive schedule adherence and resolve technical issues.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of mechanical installation, inspections, deviations, and punch items.
  • Support commissioning teams through system startup, functional testing, and handover of mechanical systems.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all dry mechanical activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in mechanical construction for semiconductor fabs, high-tech manufacturing facilities, or large-scale industrial projects.
  • Deep knowledge of semiconductor HVAC systems, cleanroom mechanical requirements, subfab mechanical systems, and process support utilities.
  • Strong understanding of dry mechanical infrastructure, including ductwork, hydronic piping, chilled water systems, exhaust systems, and makeup air systems.
  • Experience coordinating with EPCM partners and mechanical subcontractors on complex, fast-paced projects.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, one-line diagrams, BIM models, and mechanical specifications.
  • Proven experience supporting commissioning, TAB, and system startup for large mechanical systems.
  • Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead multi-trade coordination and drive field execution to schedule targets.
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, environmental, or chemical engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent field experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
BENEFITS
  • This is a full-time position with World Wide Professional Solutions offering competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits starting 1st of the month following your start date:
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage
