Job description

Overview
The Director of Talent Selection is responsible for all recruitment efforts of the Black Network Office and supported District Offices. The process of sourcing, recruiting, and selecting Financial Representatives is conducted and continuously improved by this individual. This role carries the responsibility of building high-level quality relationships in the community and promoting the Northwestern Mutual Financial Representative career, generating referrals, and developing brand advocates. As part of the Network Office leadership team, the Director of Talent Selection drives recruiting strategies to reach activity and contract goals for the firm.
This role will report to the Managing Partner, will be the Direct Supervisor of recruitment staff employed by the Network Office, and work in coordination with Managing Directors and Growth & Development Directors.
Responsibilities
Network Office Leadership Team
  • Plan and execute the Vision of the Network Office as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Analyze trends in selection process key metrics, identifying areas for improvement and leading the implementation of improvements to the selection process as needed
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders on development of recruiting strategies and activities
  • Hire, direct, and evaluate performance of recruiting personnel for the firm
  • Lead by example by individually sourcing and selecting Financial Representative candidates in alignment with overall firm goals and objectives

Sourcing
  • Build and develop effective referral sources within the office, with community advocates, and from a variety of other sources that generate qualified leads
  • Take ownership of internal and external relationships that drive candidate pipeline growth
  • Design and deliver office recruiting strategies to drive activity and reach contract goals
  • Identify new prospects by participating in community clubs and organizations
  • Lead and promote office brand on social media platforms and in community forums
  • Develop qualified lead strategies from all sources - referrals, internet, advertising, career fairs, etc.
  • Develop and coordinate advertising & marketing strategies (ads, direct mail, community events, etc.)
  • Develop relationships with other Northwestern Mutual Recruitment leaders to share leads and best practices

Selection
  • Own full-cycle selection experience, including but not limited to screening candidates, conducting interviews, administering screening tools and offering guidance throughout the selection experience
  • Maintain integrity and consistency of the selection experience, to uphold standards and expectations in interviews
  • Lead evaluation discussions of candidates in alignment with the Ideal Candidate Profile with internal stakeholders
  • Work in partnership with the Director of Development to manage the transition of candidates from recruitment to onboarding

Qualifications
  • 3 years experience in recruitment with Northwestern Mutual highly preferred
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop others; leading recruitment staff highly preferred
  • 5+ years of work experience, preferably in sales, recruiting, or related field, with continued growth in responsibility and accountability
  • Strong communication skills required with the ability to build rapport and influence others
  • Strong attention to detail and process adherence
  • Strong network of personal/professional advocates or community involvement in the Greater Atlanta area
  • Proficiency in NM Talent

Compensation
  • Base salary: $82,000 - $98,000+*, based on experience
    *range is based on 0-4 years of experience as an executive leader, candidates with additional experience are still encouraged to apply
  • Bonus opportunities up to 30%+ of total compensation
