Job description

With 118 beds and more than 400 physicians on its medical staff, Pali Momi Medical Center offers a full range of services for the communities of Central and West O'ahu. The hospital has delivered many medical firsts for the community, including Central and West O'ahu's only interventional cardiac catheterization unit to detect and treat heart disease, a fully integrated minimally invasive surgical suite, a comprehensive women's center, CT scan and MRI services, and the state's first retina center. Pali Momi is the only facility in Hawai'i that uses a team triage approach in its emergency room, where patients are promptly evaluated by an emergency physician.

The Security team provides security, information, directions and escort service to patients and staff as needed, while adhering to policies and regulations regarding safety. As Security Officers patrol Pali Momi facilities, they are often the first to meet and greet our clients, which positions the community's experience at our facility in a positive way. The Security team plays a vital role in creating a sense of safety and security throughout our hospitals, which is important to our patients and their families.

If you would like to help create a safe and comfortable environment for our patients, staff and guests at Pali Momi, you could be the right person for this position. Responsibilities include providing protection and security for facility personnel, patients, visitors, and property through security and safety patrols, crisis intervention, investigation into minor crimes and accidents, and serving as a visual deterrent to potential problem situations. You will participate in safety programs and provides support to all departments. We are looking for someone dependable and observant, with excellent customer service skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai'i's people.

Minimum Qualifications: High School or equivalent. Current Hawaii Security Guard Registration (GDE) License. Current American Heart Association Heartsaver-AED or BLS Card. Six (6) months security experience or experience in related field.

Preferred Qualifications: International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) Basic Healthcare Security Officer Training Certificate to be obtained within one year of hire. Teamwork Awareness Prevention Course to be attended within one (1) year of hire. Hospital security experience.
