Hungry, Humble, Honest, with Heart.
The Opportunity
Are you a knowledgeable and adaptable Systems Sales Engineer with a strong background in data center technologies and a passion for supporting mid-market healthcare clients? If so, you'll thrive on our dynamic team that values collaboration and innovation, providing you the opportunity to leverage your skills in a fast-paced, flexible environment while making a meaningful impact in the healthcare sector.
About the Team
The Systems Sales Engineer will join a dynamic and collaborative team focused on supporting mid-market healthcare customers in Southeast. This team, integral to Nutanix, emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, and a strong customer-centric approach, reflecting a culture built on camaraderie and support. The mission of the team is to deliver exceptional technical support and solutions tailored to the specific needs of healthcare clients, leveraging innovative technologies in private and public cloud environments.
You will report to the Senior Manager, Systems Engineering, who values quality over speed in the hiring process. Their leadership style is supportive, emphasizing teamwork and shared goals while fostering a busy yet engaging work environment. The work setup for this role is primarily remote, allowing team members the flexibility to work from various locations without a strict in-office mandate.
The role requires approximately 40% travel for client engagements and meetings. While much of the work can be conducted remotely, the expectation is that the new hire will travel for face-to-face interactions with customers, with the understanding that it is unlikely for any Sales Engineers to be away from the office for more than four out of ten business days.
Candidates need to be based in Raleigh or Charlotte.
Your Role
  • Support healthcare clients in larger Southeast by managing technical inquiries and providing tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate with existing Sales Engineers to strategically cover assigned accounts and enhance territory management.
  • Conduct technical interviews for prospective team members, contributing to team recruitment and development efforts.
  • Engage in remote and on-site client meetings to build and maintain strong relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Travel approximately 40% of the time to facilitate client meetings and engagements as required.
  • Stay updated on Nutanix products and relevant technologies to provide informed support and insights to clients.
  • Assist in transitioning responsibilities from the outgoing Sales Engineer to ensure seamless service continuity for clients.
  • Contribute to team collaboration efforts to enhance knowledge sharing and workload management among team members.

What You Will Bring
  • 7+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer in data center technologies and virtualization.
  • Strong understanding of server storage and networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with public cloud technologies (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Excellent persuasive communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Technical knowledge in security and its application in sales discussions.
  • Ability to establish rapport with clients and disrupt the status quo.
  • Strong conversational skills and a personable demeanor.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred (not mandatory).

Work Arrangement
Remote: This position is primarily remote. There is no specific in-office requirement, however, there may be circumstances where you may be required to come into a local office for a specific purpose, and/or to travel to other locations based on business needs.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 207,000 and USD $ 311,000 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors. Our application deadline is 40 days from the date of posting. In good faith, the posting may be removed prior to this date if the position is filled or extended in good faith.
