NOVO's wide range of service programs offer a variety of options to provide a seamless, single source distribution system. NOVO's regional healthcare linen facilities are HLAC accredited and operate with state-of-the-art processing equipment and processes.

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading day-to-day plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production performance. This role partners closely with the General Manager to execute the site's operational strategy while maintaining accountability for production targets, cost control, safety compliance, service levels, and team performance.

This leader drives operational discipline across production, engineering, distribution coordination, inventory management, and order fulfillment to support client retention and customer satisfaction within a healthcare-focused manufacturing environment.

Success in this role is measured by operational KPI performance, labor optimization, COGS management, quality metrics, safety results, and on-time service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Execution

  • Oversee daily production operations, including medical instruments, healthcare linens, and disposable accessory packs.

  • Ensure production schedules are met in alignment with customer demand and service requirements.

  • Drive operational consistency across shifts and departments.

  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators including safety, quality, productivity, cost, and service.

Financial & Cost Management

  • Support development and execution of the facility operating budget.

  • Manage labor efficiency, overtime control, scrap reduction, and inventory accuracy.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service and quality standards.

  • Assist in forecasting production volumes and staffing needs.

Continuous Improvement

  • Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurring operational issues.

  • Improve workflow, build schedules, and production planning processes.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, quality standards, and Novo Health Services policies and procedures.

  • Support adherence to GMP/QSR requirements where applicable.

  • Promote a strong safety-first culture across the facility.

  • Partner with engineering and maintenance to ensure preventive maintenance programs are executed effectively.

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline teams.

  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability.

  • Foster an engaged, collaborative work environment.

  • Support talent development and succession planning efforts.

Customer & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales and Customer Service teams to support new business implementation.

  • Coordinate production and distribution schedules to meet client commitments.

  • Ensure service reliability and high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing or process-oriented operations.

  • Minimum 3 years in a plant-level leadership or production management role.

  • Experience managing supervisors and frontline employees.

  • Strong understanding of production processes, inventory management, and distribution coordination.

  • Healthcare, medical device, or regulated industry experience preferred.

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar operational excellence methodologies preferred.
