Job description

Position Summary

The Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager oversees Dispatchers and Operations Center activities, ensuring seamless communication, incident response, and accountability across all sites. This role provides leadership within the SOC, monitoring real-time security operations personnel, incident response protocols, emergency communications, life safety systems, and coordination with public safety agencies to ensure the protection of people, property, assets, and operations. , and ensuring accurate reporting. SOC Manager serves as the primary liaison between Operations Center staff, field supervisors, client and account management, maintaining service quality and compliance with organizational standards.

Position Details

Location: Tampa, FL

Pay Range: $52,000-$55,000

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Occasional flexibility may be required for after-hours emergencies, shift coverage, or special assignments

Key Responsibilities

  • SOC Oversight & Leadership
    • Manage SOC Dispatchers, ensuring timely response to calls, service requests, and incidents.
    • Strong decision-making, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
    • Coordinate maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, and vendor support for all security technologies.
    • Maintain professional relationships with clients, city officials, public safety agencies, and operational stakeholders.
    • Maintain staffing schedules for SOC coverage, ensuring 24/7 operational readiness.
    • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to SOC staff.
  • Incident & Communication Management
    • Monitor officer locations, guard tours, and post coverage through GPS-enabled platforms.
    • Monitor security systems including CCTV, access control, alarms, radio communications, and emergency notification platforms.
    • Maintain situational awareness of all security incidents, suspicious activity, safety concerns, and operational disruptions.
    • Ensure proper escalation of emergencies to law enforcement, fire, EMS, or management.
    • Validate dispatcher activity logs, reports and communication records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Operational Coordination
    • Act as the central liaison between field supervisors, officers, and management.
    • Support deployment of flex officers and reserve teams during staffing shortages or emergencies.
    • Coordinate with field supervisors to verify post compliance and rapid response.
  • Reporting & Accountability
    • Review dispatcher reports, activity logs, and incident documentation before submission.
    • Generate daily and weekly SOC summaries for management review.
    • Respond professionally to escalated concerns involving safety, security, or operational disruptions.
    • Ensure compliance with post orders, reporting protocols, and client requirements.
  • Emergency & Continuity Support
    • Oversee SOC response during critical incidents, natural disasters, or large-scale emergencies.
    • Coordinate emergency response activities with law enforcement, fire rescue, EMS, emergency management agencies, and internal leadership
    • Implement contingency protocols for staffing, communications, and site continuity.
    • Ensure compliance with emergency preparedness plans, evacuation procedures, and continuity of operations protocols
    • Ensure dispatchers remain at their posts until properly relieved.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in physical security operations, emergency management, law enforcement, military, or command center operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience managing security operations in high-traffic, public-facing, municipal, commercial, hospitality, entertainment, or critical infrastructure environments preferred.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure and make rapid, sound decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols, dispatch operations, and crisis management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with GPS-enabled reporting systems, radio communications, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must pass background check, drug screening, driving record and employment eligibility verification.
  • Clean criminal background and eligibility for employment via E-Verify.
  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Active or eligible for Florida Class “D” and “G” Licenses

Preferred but Not Required: Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement is a plus.
