Job Description

Westgate Resorts is seeking an Command Center Security Officer to support nationwide emergency management, corporate security, incident monitoring, crisis communications, and business continuity operations across our resort portfolio. This position serves as a critical link between field response teams, resort leadership, corporate leadership, and emergency response agencies by monitoring security systems, coordinating communications, and providing real-time situational awareness during routine operations and emergency events.

The ideal candidate possesses strong critical thinking, communication, multitasking, and decision-making skills and thrives in a fast-paced security operations center environment. Candidates with experience in security operations, dispatch, emergency management, law enforcement support, surveillance monitoring, crisis communications, public safety, hospitality security, or command center operations are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do:

  • Monitor CCTV surveillance systems, security cameras, access control systems, alarms, and security technology platforms across all Westgate resort properties.
  • Serve as the primary communication hub between resort personnel, emergency responders, corporate leadership, and executive stakeholders during incidents and critical events.
  • Maintain continuous situational awareness through monitoring of live video feeds, security systems, weather alerts, emergency notifications, public safety communications, and news media reporting.
  • Coordinate emergency management response efforts involving police, fire departments, EMS personnel, security teams, and resort leadership.
  • Utilize emergency notification systems and mass communication platforms to communicate incidents, threats, weather events, and operational updates.
  • Prepare and distribute timely incident reports, executive summaries, situation reports, and operational briefings.
  • Provide real-time operational updates to executives, management teams, and response personnel during emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Support emergency preparedness, mitigation, response, recovery, and business continuity initiatives across the organization.
  • Participate in emergency management planning, exercises, drills, training initiatives, and after-action reviews.
  • Assist with incident documentation, video evidence retrieval, surveillance review, and historical incident research.
  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of emergency management programs and command center procedures.
  • Collaborate with resort management teams, safety departments, security personnel, and emergency response partners nationwide.
  • Represent Westgate Resorts at local, county, state, and regional emergency management meetings, emergency operations centers (EOCs), and planning activities as needed.
  • Maintain accurate operational logs, attendance records, communication records, and incident documentation.
  • Complete assigned FEMA, Incident Command System (ICS), National Incident Management System (NIMS), emergency management, and security-related certifications and training.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Emergency Management leadership or Executive Security leadership.
Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in emergency management, security operations, command center operations, dispatch, surveillance monitoring, public safety, law enforcement support, military operations, crisis management, hospitality security, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC), Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), Emergency Operations Center (EOC), dispatch center, or command center environment preferred.

Education & Certifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • FEMA ICS-100 and ICS-700 certifications preferred.
  • Additional FEMA, NIMS, Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Public Safety, or Security Operations certifications are a plus.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with CCTV systems, access control systems, video surveillance platforms, alarm monitoring systems, and emergency notification software preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to analyze incidents and determine appropriate response or escalation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
