SMI Security – Security Operations Manager

Salary: $60,000 Base Salary + Overtime Performance Bonus
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: South Florida
Reports To: Senior Operations Management

Position Overview:
SMI Security is seeking an experienced, hands-on Security Operations Manager to oversee multiple security accounts and ensure quality service, proper staffing, client satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily security operations and multiple client accounts.
  • Ensure all posts are properly staffed and operational.
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled site inspections.
  • Supervise Site Supervisors, Shift Supervisors, and Security Officers.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, attendance, and callouts.
  • Work with Recruiting and HR to maintain proper staffing levels.
  • Monitor and control overtime, with a target of under 5%.
  • Build strong client relationships and respond to concerns.
  • Handle security incidents, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with SMI policies, client requirements, and Florida security regulations.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Prepare staffing, overtime, incident, inspection, and performance reports.

Required Qualifications:
  • Valid Florida Class D Security License.
  • Valid Florida Driver License.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Previous security management or operations management experience.
  • Experience supervising Security Officers and Supervisors.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and work flexible hours.
  • Ability to travel between assigned client locations.

Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

What SMI Is Looking For:
SMI is looking for a hands-on leader who takes ownership, understands field operations, holds employees accountable, builds strong client relationships, solves problems quickly, and knows how to control staffing and overtime.

Compensation:
$60,000 Base Salary + Overtime Performance Bonus
Qualified managers may earn an additional performance bonus for maintaining assigned operations below the 5% overtime target, subject to SMI requirements and management approval.
