Responsibilities
To provide a secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, buildings, property and grounds at Stella Maris. Oversee the management of the Security Department that includes incident reporting, rounding, scheduling, staffing and orientation.
  • Maintains and observes monitors to include Wander Guard, VisiPlex and Cameras frequently to ensure safety and of residents, staff, and visitors. Consistently follows department procedures, to include badge checks, late bus logs, etc.
  • Directs security response(s) as directed. Monitors location of all security personnel on duty.
  • Enforces Stella Maris regulations and policies.
  • Directs vehicle traffic on and immediately adjacent to Stella Maris.
  • Conducts investigation into security related incidents and prepares reports.
  • Will be completely knowledgeable of the operations and functions of the digital CCTV surveillance and recording system:. Be able to recall any image regardless of camera or recording system. Be knowledgeable in saving images to disk for export to hard copy. Be able to program camera titles and location. Be able to prepare a video time line of serious incidents/events
  • Will be completely knowledgeable of the operations and functions of the badge reader system.
  • Maintains the computerized Incident report documentation system and is knowledgeable of data collection and trending report procedures. Keeps the Director advised of all investigative activity.
  • Responsible for maintaining current training requirements.
  • Make periodic rounds of Stella Maris, grounds, parking facilities, inspecting all areas for equipment malfunction, fire safety and security hazards. Take the appropriate action when required, and complete the necessary written report prior to the end of shift.
  • Operates the Security Department vehicle on private and public roads.
  • Responsible for the scheduling and staffing of the department. Approves PTO, Holiday, ESSL time per policy.
  • Responsible for the biweekly payroll to ensure accuracy. In conjunction with the Director approves payroll.
  • Provides orientation to the staff on the completion of incident community reports, proper rounding, and investigations.el.
  • Schedules and manages the fire drills and emergency preparedness drills. Has a thorough understanding of the emergency preparedness plan.
  • Meets regularly with the supervisors and staff to ensure good communication, problem solving and effective operation of the department.
  • Responds to calls for service and for disruptive or emergency situations. Investigates, assures order, resolves problems and submits reports as necessary. Reviews and approves reports submitted by Security Officers.
