As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of security professionals, the Site Security Manager (SSM) will lead and oversee Construction Security, associated planning, and coordination for Secure Space builds and renovations in support of New Glenn and Blue National Security (BNS) portfolio programs. The SSM's initial responsibility will be physical security as defined in Intelligence Community Directive - 705 (ICD-705); however, ContractorSpecial Access Program(SAP) Security Officer responsibility will be assumed in parallel. The SSM will be forward-thinking with creativity in mind to introduce security into multiple environments,such as administrative, factory, laboratory, and launch integration. The SSM will interface with business partners, teammates, and customer personnel. The SSM will interpret and convey Intelligence Community (IC), Department of Defense (DoD), and Special Access Program (SAP) directives and requirements, report to Blue Origin's Government Security Director, serve as the local point of contact for physical security and assigned programs.

The SSM must have adequate security-related experience and knowledge of government security regulations, manuals, and processes, including those outlined in ICD's (704, 705, etc.), 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), DoD 5205.07, and other applicable manuals. The SSM will be required to travel in support of launch activities and cross-train in different security-related areas. This position will require dedication and commitment, as it will directly impact the history of space exploration and bring Blue Origin closer to the goal of safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Physical security oversight and planning, including alarm response, escorting, contingency planning, accreditation packages (proof of concepts, Construction Security Plans (CSPs), Fixed Facility Checklists (FFCs), Tempest Checklists, etc.)
  • Tempest Control Report interpretation
  • Standard Operating Procedure planning and implementation
  • Security Project Management for new secure space builds and/or renovations
  • Security Hardware and Technology upgrades
  • Information Management System (IMS) records, system implementation, and maintenance
  • Security Awareness, Training, and Education (SATE)
  • Self-Inspection and government inspection initiation, corrective action, and outcomes
  • Plan development and implementation of processes, including Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), OPSEC, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), Emergency Action Plan (EAP), and other documentation as required per contract
  • Security contracts management (prime, supplier, and subcontract)
  • Contingency planning
  • Classification management (DD254, Security Classification Guide (SCG), Markings, etc.)
  • Communication Security (COMSEC) duties to include inventory, distribution, and destruction
  • Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) as required per contract
  • Insider Threat & Counterintelligence
  • Maintain facility clearance status and work with government customers on required program and personnel documentation (KMP, self-inspections, SEAD Reporting, etc.)
  • Personnel Security Management
  • Oversee corrective action and prepare reports for internal and external coordination addressing investigation results, culpability, impact assessment, and future mitigation as applicable
  • Required Travel is 10%

Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship with active Top-Secret clearance and current SCI access
  • Bachelor's Degree in applicable field plus 2 years' experience
  • Or a high school diploma plus a minimum 4 years' experience
  • Working knowledge of DoD, SAP, and IC Directives
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize tasking, and team-driven
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency with the security system of record, access control, and other related systems or databases (EBIS/DISS/NISS/SC/JADE/SIMS/OnGuard Lenel/C-CURE Access Management)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving, growing, and dynamic environment
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Base Pay Range for:

CO applicants is $95,358.00 - $133,501.20
