SR. MANAGER, SECURITY
Help SpaceX protect life and property anywhere company assets are deployed. The Sr. Manager, Security is a highly trained professional who will provide coordination for Contracted Guard Force, Physical Security, Automated Access Control System, Intrusion Detection System, and CCTV System. This individual will have access to cutting edge technology in order to provide the best possible protection for the employees and assets of SpaceX.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and communicate the overall strategy for site security, aligning it with SpaceX's business objectives
  • Become the trusted security advisor to senior management and leaders across the organization through high-level communication and excellent briefing skills
  • Establish procedures and protocols to assess, identify, and mitigate any security vulnerabilities or gaps
  • Maintain a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures; ensure that all team members understand and comply with those laws, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Identify, prioritize, develop, and implement security measures, emergency preparedness and response plans, and security protocols and strategies
  • Participate in local, state, and federal working or advisory groups to stay updated on security-related information
  • Maintain security equipment such as cameras, alarms, and access control systems
  • Assess systems, alarms, and other physical security measures for effectiveness
  • Make effective decisions in both routine and crisis situations
  • Take personal initiative in developing efficient work processes
  • Address and resolve security issues promptly, effectively, and independently

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 12+ years of experience in the field of security
  • 5+ years of security management experience supervising and directing staff across a wide range of operating functions
  • Experience with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Exceptional track record in managing security operations, special events, and risk mitigation to critical infrastructure
  • Prior experience directing large teams in all areas of security management
  • Established skills in strategic and critical thinking, decision-making, communications, and relationship-building
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, and possess a proven ability to thrive under pressure and to execute on a number of projects simultaneously
  • Successful experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic, results-oriented team environment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be willing to work all shifts, extended hours, and/or weekends as needed
  • Must be willing to travel up to 15%
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an FAA Part 107 Drone license
  • Ability to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg
  • Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • An active clearance may provide the opportunity for you to work on sensitive SpaceX missions; if so, you will be subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testin
  • Position is subject to pre-employment enhanced screening, including a background check, psychological test, bi-annual physical fitness test, and a drug and alcohol test
  • Position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing

  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
