GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Controller keeps the records of the company in a sound, timely, accurate manner and maintains all required internal controls and documentation. This position is responsible for all general accounting, cost accounting, financial reporting, insurance, risk management and related functions in the company. An exceptional level of ethics and independent judgment is required. This position requires the ability to obtain security clearance, if needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Establish and maintain the accuracy of all financial records and SOX control procedures for the organization.
• Direct and oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packages and analysis for 10-Q and Form 10-K reporting purposes ensuring compliance in accordance with GAAP and including review of revenue recognition methodologies and practices.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and practices that meet the Kratos Global Policy at a minimum.
• Develop and implement financial plans, forecasts, budgets, and analyzing financial performance for KMI San Jose, KMI Sacramento and Consolidated KMI America.
• Analyze and evaluate all available financial data and controls, inform and assist executive management at Kratos Microwave in recognizing potential problem areas.
• Manage cash flow, ensure sufficient liquidity, and optimize cash balances. This may include reaching out to customers who are delinquent greater than 60+ days outstanding.
• Assure the timeliness of all accounting, program financials and inventory control reports to management on a periodic basis as requested.
• Assure compliance of all company policies for employees, customers and suppliers.
• Perform employee performance reviews with each employee reporting to Controller.
• Anticipate (trouble-shoots) problems that may be encountered in the accounting, cost accounting and finance areas and takes aggressive action to eliminate problems.
• Review and maintain appropriate segregation of duties within the various departments.
• Review and ensure Key Spreadsheets are identified, locked and maintained as required per the policy.
• Ensure the Accounting ERP system is functioning appropriately and reviews and tests for any new implementations and/or upgrades to the system.

OTHER TASKS:
• Lead monthly financial review meetings with Corporate.
• Develop reports related to OPEX reviews as needed.
• Monitor all pool costs and related rate variances.
• Lead on identifying, negotiating and managing facility and equipment leases.
• Collaborate with Project Management to review and update EACs (POC and loss) with documented explanations for material changes
• Adhere to Kratos approval matrix related to all finance activities
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned.
• Remain compliant per the requirements of the Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. compliance program.
• Completes training timely and ensure employees in Finance department are also compliant.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA is a plus.
• Ten or more years of experience in Accounting.
• Prior experience in dealing with accounting audits, SOX audits and other compliance audits.
• Must have prior experience with coordinating with multiple organizations to achieve desired results.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
• Costpoint or other ERP experience.

Preferred:
• Manufacturing experience is a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Office environment.
• Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
• Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, mouse, phones).
• May be required to lift up to 10 pounds.
