Job description

OVERVIEW: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer to support the design, development, integration, and maintenance of mission-critical software solutions in a secure government environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong software engineering expertise with a focus on Java and/or Python development, experience working across the full software development lifecycle, and the ability to deliver high-quality solutions in a collaborative team setting. GENERAL DUTIES: * Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications using Java and/or Python.

Analyze user requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Develop scalable, secure, and maintainable software architectures. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems engineers, analysts, and stakeholders.

Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to software development best practices. Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues. * Develop and maintain technical documentation.

Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. Integrate software with databases, APIs, and third-party services as required. * Support software deployment, configuration management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree and 8 years of relevant software development experience; OR Bachelor's degree and 10 years of relevant software development experience; OR No degree and 12 years of relevant software development experience. Strong experience developing applications in Java and/or Python. Experience with object-oriented design and software engineering principles.

Experience with software testing, debugging, and performance optimization. Experience working within Agile software development environments. * Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

Experience developing and maintaining enterprise-level software applications. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Intelligence Community (IC) programs. * Experience with cloud technologies and containerization platforms.

Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices. Knowledge of DevSecOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines. * Experience with secure software development practices.

Strong written and verbal communication skills. CLEARANCE: Active Top Secret clearance minimum required
