Job description

Company Overview: Spectrum is a leading provider of human services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our mission is to provide our clients with the greatest quality of life and the highest level of independence in the community. Spectrum has been serving Colorado for over 40 years in residential settings, Day Program, community and in-home support, and community integrated employment. We support those receiving services through Home and Community Based (HCBS) Long Term Services and Supports Medicaid Waivers. The Residential Program serves individuals in whichever setting is best suited to their needs, living independently, with family members, or in a state-qualified Host Home.

Status: Part time, up to 29 hours per week.

Compensation and Benefits:

Schedule: Core hours are 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with flexibility in start/end times and number of days worked. Hours might vary if accepting community clients.

Reports to: Executive Director

Position Purpose: The BCBA provides high-quality, evidence-based interventions that improve the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Job Functions:

  • Collect data and create individualized treatment plans for each client.
  • Provide direct oversight and supervision in the implementation of behavior intervention strategies, ensuring they are applied consistently.
  • Monitor client progress, update treatment plans and goals, and communicate needed changes to team members and families
  • Complete all billable hours assigned.
  • Supervise and mentor Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and other staff involved in direct client care.
  • Conduct multidisciplinary assessments and create treatment plans in coordination with other clinical specialties
  • Maintain client specific information using Spectrums online tools.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

Masters degree in applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, or a related field

Certifications

  • Current BCBA certification

Additional Requirements

  • Valid drivers license and proof of auto insurance.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel in the Denver metro and surrounding areas
  • Computer-literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Possess a coachable and positive attitude
  • Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, and creativity to changing needs and situations
  • Punctual
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills
  • Prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Set boundaries and always maintain professionalism
  • Handle confidential information with discretion
  • Display a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn along with a cooperative approach to problem solving
  • Criminal and Colorado Adult Protective Services background checks required

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working at the computer
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, up to 4-5 hours
  • Ability to assist clients with mobility challenges, including physical guidance during interventions.
  • Drive to and from meetings and shifts in the community
  • Must be able to bend, and reach overhead
  • Capability to manage stressful situations and maintain composure while working with clients who may exhibit challenging behaviors (e.g., aggressive behavior, self-injury).
  • Ability to perform other physical tasks associated with direct therapy, including positioning clients, moving adaptive equipment, and setting up treatment spaces.
