Job description

Description:

More Than A Job. A Career That Changes Lives.

160 Driving Academy is the largest CDL training school in the country — 14 years strong, 90+ locations across 32 states, and roughly 20,000 students earning their commercial driver’s license with us every year. We graduate at an 88% first-time pass rate because we take the work personally.

Behind every one of those graduates is a working adult who chose to bet on themselves: a parent looking for stable income, a veteran starting a second career, a worker pivoting out of an industry that was no longer hiring. They picked up the phone, called us, and someone on the other end of the line treated their question like it mattered.

That someone is you. As a Student Success Advisor, you take the handoff the moment a student pays tuition and you walk with them all the way to graduation, the testing site, and a job offer. The way you guide, remind, troubleshoot, and encourage is the difference between a student who almost finished and a student with a CDL in their hand. This is professional, hands-on student support work. The pay rewards the outcomes that matter — students staying in the program and getting hired — and the company is investing heavily in the people doing it well.

Responsibilities

  • Support students from class start through graduation and CDL testing.
  • Take inbound calls from enrolled students and resolve or escalate issues quickly.
  • Make outbound support calls to students assigned to your training locations.
  • Help students stay on track with permits, DOT physicals, drug screens, fees, attendance, and testing requirements.
  • Track student attendance and identify students who may need additional support.
  • Update student communication and activity in Salesforce.
  • Assist with enrollment documentation and student billing package requirements.
  • Support job placement follow-up and verify placement after graduation.
  • Greet walk-in students and prospective students when working from a branch location.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional branch environment when on-site.
  • Partner with yards, instructors, compliance, training, and support teams to remove student barriers.
  • Follow company pricing and discount guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in education, vocational training, admissions, workforce programs, retail, or student services.
  • Familiarity with WIOA or government-assistance programs.
  • Experience supporting adult learners or career-change students.
  • Branch operations or site coordination experience.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish is helpful but not required.
  • Experience coordinating compliance documents such as permits, physicals, drug screens, or testing paperwork.

What We Offer

  • Hourly pay based on experience and state requirements.
  • Commission opportunity tied to eligible branch-driven enrollments.
  • Bonus opportunity tied to student retention.
  • Comprehensive benefits package for full-time team members.
  • Training and onboarding to support your success in the role.
  • Remote or branch-based work depending on business needs.
  • Career growth opportunities within 160 Driving Academy.
  • An opportunity to make a lasting impact by helping students complete training and start careers in trucking.

Why 160 Driving Academy

We train the people America runs on. Truck drivers move the food, the medicine, the building materials, and the everyday goods that keep this country working. Helping a student finish the program and land a job is helping them step into a stable, well-paying, in-demand career — often the first one they’ve had. Our 600+ WIOA partnerships, our work with veterans and second-chance candidates, and our reputation with carriers across 32 states all depend on what happens after a student pays tuition. The Student Success Advisor role is where that promise gets kept. If you want to do work that genuinely matters, be paid well for doing it, and be part of a company that is actively investing in its people — we want to talk.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a student caseload and follow through on details.
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Experience using Salesforce, Outlook, and standard communication tools.
  • Comfortable working remotely or from a branch location as assigned.
  • Ability to support students professionally by phone, email, text, and in person.
  • Accountable, coachable, and focused on student outcomes.
