Stand Up / Reach Lift Truck Operator

Summary:

Stand up / Reach Lift Truck Operator will ensure safe and accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of products utilizing equipment including, but not limited to stand up forklifts, walk behinds, and pallet jacks. This position is responsible for off-loading inbound materials, receiving, put-a-way, replenishment, order picking and outbound loading.

Essential Functions:

  • Load and unload freight using equipment in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Load, unload, pick, put-away, consolidate, stack and stage products and materials using a stand up / reach forklift or other power equipment.
  • Move product to storage areas with proper equipment.
  • Efficiently stack and safely store the merchandise in the designated area.
  • Pick orders for shipment and assemble various types of merchandise to be shipped.
  • Operate stand up / reach forklift at extreme heights.
  • Read orders and fulfill orders by using SAP RF scanners.
  • Check or count freight for accuracy and/or damage and infestation.
  • Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
  • Conduct operations in a manner, which promotes safety.
  • Participate in physical inventories, as needed.
  • As directed by management, perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking.
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently. Equipment to include (but not limited to) stand up forklifts, walk behinds, pallet jacks, and double pallet jacks.
  • Promptly report all safety malfunctions on equipment.
  • Comply with OSHA standards.
  • Must be able to meet distribution center standards.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work environment. Practice 5S.
  • Follow attendance policy, show up for work on time and ready to work assigned shift.
  • Charge or change forklift battery as instructed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed.
  • Tools and Technology: Computer, Warehouse management system and related components, Pallet Jack, high lift, and stand up lift truck.
  • Inspect each pallet and or case for proper quantities, items brands, and follow any special instructions and /or additional documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Must have minimum 6 months experience (warehouse, stand up / reach lift)
  • Basic math (addition and subtraction).
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours per day for up to 6 days a week.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledgeable of where pallets are to be placed in locations based on box size & product
  • Experience with safe & secure material handling methods & distributes goods properly in accordance with processing standards
  • Experience with safe & secure loading methods to utilize the maximum amount of trailer space & avoid product damage
  • Performs all aspects of material handling manually & through the use of powered equipment within a distribution center.
  • Must be willing to be trained & certified on reach truck & order picker.
  • Experience in WMS / WM, & RF scanner skills.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, push, pull & lift cartons/bins weighing approximately up to 50 pounds repetitively daily
  • Eyesight (with or without correction) to place pallets 28 feet high in warehouse racking.

Working Conditions:

Working in non-climate controlled environment, working around moving machinery / heavy equipment, and in close proximity of others and racking systems.
