Job Summary:
AAON, Inc. is a market leader in the manufacturing of high-efficiency thermal management equipment for data centers, and they are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Product Manager to join their team. The Product Manager will play a critical role in shaping and executing BASX’s product strategy by leading the full lifecycle management of one or more product lines, focusing on the Data Center Equipment portfolio.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy aligned with business objectives, market trends, and customer needs.
• Define and communicate the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and customer expectations and coordination of any shared resources.
• Prepare for and participate in periodic management meetings to articulate the strategy and align key stakeholders to the product vision and direction.
• Take ownership of the entire product lifecycle, from concept to end-of-life, ensuring successful product launches and sustained market success.
• Serve as subject matter expert for your assigned product(s), managing the product, application, and regulatory matters impacting the business.
• Collaborate with other departments, including engineering, manufacturing, IT, operations, sales, and marketing, serving as the quarterback (leader) for the cross-functional team to ensure seamless coordination, successful product launches, and ongoing execution.
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and opportunities for product innovation.
• Conduct in-depth market analysis and voice of customer (VOC) discovery research to identify areas for product improvement, including feature adds and new product variants.
• Create and maintain robust market models using internal and external data sources to drive incisive choices around product investments, pricing, and positioning.
• Prepare and present business cases in support of product investments, identifying appropriate financial measures and other KPIs to determine success.
• Monitor and analyze market share data, providing insights and recommendations that enhance our competitive position.
• Own and manage product pricing, ensuring the price architecture maximizes value capture in the marketplace and software price adjustments are executed accurately and timely.
• Support the development of sales selection software to optimize the sales process, ensuring the alignment of sales strategies with product offerings and ease of business.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling marketing collateral, brochures, technical literature, and presentations that effectively convey product value propositions.
• Aid in the development of pertinent product training materials and participate in 'train the trainer' sessions to equip sales and technical managers with the knowledge to train others.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (preferred).
• 10+ years of experience within the HVAC industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Thermal Management, HVAC, or related industry.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Deep technical understanding of HVAC systems and/or thermal management systems.
• Effective collaborator and influencer across cross-functional teams.
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC and/or Data Center industry trends, technologies, and regulations.
• Experience with sales selection tools and product development processes.
• Communicates effectively in written and spoken form.
• Possesses excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
• Exhibits good decision making and analytical problem solving abilities.
• Demonstrates strong multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills.
• Works effectively in a team environment.
• Works effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
• Lift up to 50lbs.
• Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours.
• Periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
