Job Description

In this crucial role in our Surgical Services Division, the Operating Room Circulating / PACU RN will use your skills to support our mission for providing stellar healthcare services for our pediatric orthopedic patients. The RN will be supported by an amazing team of dedicated health professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care in the operating room.

  • Supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family.

  • Will function within the Shriners Hospitals for Children Professional Practice Model (FOCUSED), which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients.

  • The ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice provides a basis for the practice of the RN.

  • Provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts.

  • Delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources.

  • Possesses excellent communication skills; is skillful in mentoring and teaching; and may participate on committees or projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in nursing (ADN)

  • RN license in state of practice (SC)

  • Prior OR Circulator RN experience

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

  • Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS), obtained within one year of employment as required by hospital

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)

  • 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care hospital

  • Pediatric and/or orthopedic experience

The pay range for this position is $38.52 - $57.78. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
