In this role, you'll help move, sort, and handle potatoes as they come in from the field, playing an important part in keeping harvest operations running efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesSort, inspect, and remove debris or defects from incoming potatoesAssist with moving potatoes through conveyors and storage processes within the shedSupport unloading and handling of potatoes as they arrive from the fieldMaintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shiftCommunicate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient operationsFollow all safety procedures while working around equipment and in a fast-paced environmentAssist with additional tasks as needed to support harvest operationsTypical EducationHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferredRelevant ExperiencePrior experience in general labor, general farming operations, warehouse, or production work preferredExperience working in a fast-paced or team-oriented environment preferredExperience working around equipment or in an industrial setting is a plusRequirementsAbility to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as neededAbility to stand for extended periods of time throughout the workdayAble to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting, sorting, and moving productComfortable working in a potato shed environment, including exposure to dust, noise, varying temperatures and fast-paced environmentsAble to work well with others as part of a teamReliable attendance and ability to arrive on time for scheduled shiftsDisclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
