3. Use piano and/or keyboard skills to accompany rehearsals and support singers as they learn music.

4. Teach music in a way that builds confidence, supports vocal technique, and strengthens sight-reading or learning-by-ear skills.

5. Adapt music, rehearsal pacing, and instruction as needed to accommodate changing vocal ranges, hearing needs, sight-reading limitations, and physical considerations.

6. Prepare and direct informal programs and scheduled performances, including Spring and Holiday programs and other activities for Independent Living and Monarch residents.

7. Coordinate performance preparation, including additional rehearsals as needed for special programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

2. Experience in choral conducting, vocal instruction, rehearsal preparation, and leading vocal ensembles is required.

3. A minimum of two years' experience directing amateur, community-based, or non-auditioned choral groups.

4. Piano and/or keyboard skills are required to accompany the chorus during weekly practice sessions.

2. Motivate and energize singers while fostering the joy of music, group participation, and positive social connection.

3. Incorporate appropriate vocal and physical warm-ups that support respiratory health, posture, and vocal longevity.

4. Work with the Canterbury Choristers Chair and Co-Chair on program planning, music selection, music acquisition, and performance preparation.

5. Coordinate with the Choristers Chair and Co-Chair to formulate and submit an annual budget to the Resident Services Director by July 20 and to the Residents Council Treasurer by December 1.

6. Support basic performance logistics, including scheduling, accessibility considerations, seating, and coordination with Resident Services staff.
