Job description

Seasonal for Nights
Rate: $55/HR
Contract runs from 9/20/26-4/3/27
Minimum of 72 Hour a Pay Period Have to be Worked

    Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Texas Nursing Practice Act, with emphasis on nursing process / outcomes for oncology patients with emphasis on blood cancer and disorders.


    What qualifications you will need:
    • · Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing 
    • · If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position. 
    •   · Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license 
    • · Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS 
    • · Effective 10/01/23, American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS required within six months of hire or transfer 
    • · Effective 10/01/23, ONS Chemotherapy biotherapy certificate course required within 60 days of hire or transfer

      PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

      · All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.

      · Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need.

      · Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period.

      · During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee).

      · Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital.

      · Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses (D1/CND or D2/ECD)

      · Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation.

      · Current FT/PT & PRN employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2026--27 with the exception of RNs that participated in the Seasonal program in the previous year.

        · Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program. Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department
