Job description

Come work at a place where innovation and teamwork come together to support the most exciting missions in the world!

Lead Salesforce Administrator & Developer

About the Role

The ideal candidate possesses in-depth Salesforce knowledge across administration and development, covering configuration, access, and automation as well as Apex, LWC, and integrations. Own production issue debugging and technical debt remediation to ensure code quality, performance, and long-term maintainability. This is a working lead role, not a people-management role.

How you'll spend your time: ~30% hands-on development ~60% administration, configuration and platform operations ~10% technical leadership, design and review.

Responsibilities:

Development (Apex, LWC, Integrations)

  • Modify and extend existing Apex classes, triggers, and asynchronous jobs.
  • Build and maintain Lightning Web Components; maintain Aura and Visualforce where legacy demands it.
  • Build and support REST/SOAP integrations between Salesforce and connected systems.

Administration, Configuration & Platform Customization

  • Own day-to-day declarative configuration, including custom objects, fields, record types, page layouts, validation rules, approval processes and sharing rules.
  • Configure and maintain Sales, Service, Experience and (where applicable) CPQ Cloud functionality.

Process Automation

  • Build and maintain automation in Flow.
  • Migrate legacy Workflow Rules and Process Builder automation to Flow.

User Access, Security & Compliance

  • Manage the user lifecycle, including roles, profiles, permission sets and permission set groups.
  • Support SSO/SAML and MFA configuration in partnership with IT/Identity, and investigate login failures.
  • Run Health Check, Security Center and Optimizer reviews, and support internal audit and compliance requests.

Data Stewardship

  • Maintain data quality through validation rules, duplicate/matching rules and periodic audits.
  • Execute data loads, mass updates and data remediation.
  • Manage sandbox refresh and seeding.
  • Build and maintain reports, dashboards and report types for Sales, Marketing, Operations and Customer Success.

Release Management, CI/CD & Maintenance

  • Own weekly release execution in Git/Bitbucket and CI/CD tooling, including manual pre- and post-deployment steps.
  • Manage Salesforce seasonal releases and communicate impact to stakeholders.

Technical Debt & Platform Health

  • Identify, size and remediate technical debt across configuration, code, automation and access.
  • Maintain a prioritized debt register and deliver remediation alongside regular work.

Support, Triage & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Triage and resolve production issues, integration failures and data discrepancies.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Customer Success and adjacent system owners (ERP, procurement, marketing automation) to shape requirements and resolve production issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Salesforce Administrator and Platform Developer I (PD1) certifications.
  • 7-12 years in Salesforce administration and development, including at least 3 years operating as a senior or lead engineer on a team.
  • Experience across Sales, Service, Marketing, Experience and/or CPQ Clouds
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Platform Developer II (PD2), Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder, or Application/System Architect certifications.
  • Experience in a large, long-lived org carrying legacy debt, and in remediating it without disrupting the business.
  • Exposure to ERP or procurement integrations (NetSuite, Coupa or similar) and to identity platforms (Okta or similar).

How You Work

  • Clear written and verbal communication; able to explain a technical trade-off to a non-technical stakeholder and a business constraint to an engineer.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Sound judgment on when to say no, or not yet, and why.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $155,000 - $175,000 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to skills, relevant experience, and work location. Please note this range reflects base salary and does not include incentive compensation or potential equity grants. We also offer a comprehensive and highly competitive benefits package.
