What does a seasonal hospitality interior designer do?

A Seasonal Hospitality Interior Designer specializes in creating and enhancing interior spaces for hospitality venues—such as hotels, resorts, and restaurants—specifically during peak travel or event seasons. Their work involves designing functional, aesthetically pleasing environments that accommodate increased guest flow and reflect seasonal themes or branding. These designers collaborate with clients and teams to select furniture, décor, lighting, and layout adjustments that optimize guest experience and operational efficiency during busy periods. The role often requires flexibility, creativity, and the ability to execute projects within tight deadlines.

  • Solid understanding of commercial design standards, ADA, and building codes
  • Strong organization, time management, and follow-through
  • Adaptability, curiosity, and a solutions-first mindset
  • A collaborative spirit and the drive to grow within a tight-knit team

What You’ll Do

  • Lead client conversations and help guide projects from concept to completion
  • Shape design narratives, translating brand, vision, and experience into space
  • Develop full design packages, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and timeliness
  • Collaborate with architects, consultants, contractors, and makers
  • Build presentations, mood boards, and concepts that communicate with impact
  • Contribute to space planning, furniture selection, and material specifications
  • Draft equipment plans for coffee shops and restaurants (we’ll teach you what you don’t know)
  • Support design continuity from early concept through construction
  • Review drawings and documents to ensure everything aligns
