Job description

The Senior HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting the company's growth by independently managing daily HR operations and collaborating with leadership on strategic initiatives. This on-site, full-time, exempt position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the organization’s people, processes, and culture in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary internal HR resource, overseeing daily HR operations and supporting leadership on strategic HR initiatives.
  • Maintain HRIS and personnel records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all record-keeping requirements.
  • Administer employee documentation, manage files, and respond to HR-related inquiries.
  • Assist with payroll processing as needed and provide backup support for payroll administration.
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment and onboarding for both exempt and non-exempt positions, including new hire orientation and systems setup.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and recommend enhancements to maintain competitiveness and employee satisfaction.
  • Manage and evaluate compensation programs to ensure alignment with company philosophy and market standards.
  • Develop and maintain personnel policies and procedures in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Monitor and enforce policy compliance among management and employees.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee and leadership inquiries, providing guidance and coaching to resolve issues.
  • Conduct investigations into employee concerns and recommend appropriate resolutions.
  • Support and coach managers in the performance review process, including goal setting and feedback.
  • Partner with the Safety and Training Manager to track safety training, identify training needs, and implement development programs.
  • Plan and manage employee engagement events and activities to foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Provide direction and oversight to temporary HR staff as assigned.
  • Contribute to strategic HR initiatives that support business objectives and provide insights based on HR analytics and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in multiple areas of human resources.
  • Fluency in English; Spanish language skills are preferred.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and labor laws.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting HR metrics and data.
  • Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, and company policies to HR scenarios.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with diverse teams.
  • Experience as an HR department of one or as part of a small business HR team (under 150 employees) is preferred.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is preferred.
  • Experience working in a bilingual workforce environment is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required for occasional job site visits.
