Job description

About OpenLoop
OpenLoop was co-founded by CEO, Dr. Jon Lensing, and COO, Christian Williams, with the vision to bring care anywhere. Our telehealth support solutions are thoughtfully designed to streamline and simplify go-to-market care delivery for companies offering meaningful virtual support to patients across an expansive array of specialties, in all 50 states.
About the Role
Season is transforming how people access medical nutritional therapy, connecting patients with insurance-covered registered dietitians to improve health outcomes. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll work across the entire Season platform, from core scheduling and dietitian appointments to new client integrations and our AI-powered nutrition tools. This is a builder's role at the intersection of healthcare, nutrition, and AI, where ownership and self-direction matter more than a perfect resume.
What You'll Do
  • Build and maintain the core Season platform, including scheduling and dietitian appointment flows
  • Design and ship well-structured back-end APIs
  • Support and expand integrations with health systems and OpenLoop clients (Remedy Meds, Medvi, GetThin)
  • Contribute to our data and AI layer, which powers personalized nutritional guidance
  • Partner with non-technical stakeholders to turn fuzzy requirements into working solutions

Must-Haves
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) 5+ years building and shipping production systems
  • Fullstack capability, backend depth plus frontend experience. Tech stack: backend - JVM (Java, Kotlin), Python. Frontend - React, Angular, or Vue. Cloud - AWS or GCP. FastAPI
  • Solid experience designing and building APIs and back-end services
  • Proficiency with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL)
  • Builder mindset, you've taken something from 0 to 1 and owned it end to end; comfortable with ambiguity and figuring things out independently
  • Strong communication and collaboration, including gathering requirements from non-technical stakeholders

Nice-to-Haves
  • Infrastructure as code exposure (Terraform, CDK)
  • Snowflake, DBT or other data warehouse / analytics tools
  • Experience building billing, fintech, or healthtech systems
  • Prior experience in a regulated or healthcare environment (HIPAA / PHI)

Our Benefits
In addition, for salaried positions you would also be eligible for:
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision plans
  • Flexible Spending/Health Savings Accounts
  • Flexible PTO
  • 401(k) + Company Match
  • Life Insurance, Pet insurance, and more

Our Company
We have a relatively flat organizational structure here at OpenLoop. Everyone is encouraged to bring ideas to the table and make things happen. This fits in well with our core values of Autonomy, Competence and Belonging, as we want everyone to feel empowered and supported to do their best work.
Sound like a good fit? We'd love to meet you.
