Legal Assistant / Paralegal
Probate Litigation
West Palm Beach, FL
Temporary-to-Hire | Full-Time | In-Office

A solo attorney in central West Palm Beach is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join the firm on a temporary-to-hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a small office environment, takes ownership of their work, and is comfortable wearing multiple hats.

The practice is focused on Probate Litigation, and the ideal candidate will have experience supporting contested probate matters from inception through resolution while providing direct support to the attorney.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with probate litigation matters, including drafting and formatting pleadings, motions, notices, subpoenas, and correspondence
  • Prepare and electronically file documents in Florida State Courts
  • Maintain case files, calendars, deadlines, and hearing schedules
  • Coordinate hearings, depositions, mediations, and client meetings
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and judicial assistants
  • Assist with discovery, document management, and trial preparation
  • Answer phones and provide general administrative support as needed
  • Manage assigned matters independently while supporting the attorney with day-to-day case management
Requirements:
  • Prior Probate Litigation experience strongly preferred
  • PCLaw or TimeMatters and Microsoft Word experience required
  • Florida e-filing experience
  • Strong calendaring and scheduling skills
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Willingness to assist wherever needed and wear multiple hats

Schedule: Monday through Friday, standard business hours (in office)
