The Group Sales Manager is an expert in building and maintaining long term relationships their assigned geographical market, selling, identifying and converting opportunities. Responsibilities include driving revenue by proving thoughtful proposals to inquiries, proactively developing relationships for future business opportunities, developing and executing a SMART plan, hosting hotel tours, negotiating contractual terms, and facilitating communication before, during and post event with the planning teams.
The Group Sales Manager is a leader in the department, participating in and supporting initiatives within the Sales and Event team. This role encompasses both in office/onsite in Oceanside, CA and remote access and requires presence for site visits, pre-planning meetings, and other sales related guest facing or internal meetings as indicated by the Director of Sales, Marketing & Events and Director of Group Sales.
The Group Sales Manager is a fully competent individual who has experience in the sales process and function of a hotel. This individual is a career sales professional and a top producer within hotel sales who has demonstrated through performance a commitment and expertise in direct sales. The Group Sales Manager also works as a team member with the sales and catering staff and is in close contact with the administrative assistant and other support staff. Solicits through direct sales and marketing contacts, the most complex accounts, which exhibit potential for business. The Sales Manager understands how to yield business and generate total revenue based on market demands, pattern, seasonality, and value. This role will report directly to the Director of Group Sales.
The salary range for this position is $76,800.00 - $99,750.00. This is the pay range for this position that The Seabird Resort reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.

Responsibilities & Duties include:
• Selling guest rooms, meeting space and other Hyatt services to customer groups, managing accounts, and conducting site inspections, solicits and generates business.
• Preparing and presenting effective and detailed proposals, maintaining well organized documentation and reports, utilizes Hyatt systems and coordinates customer service requirements as appropriate.
• Participate and may lead sales and event meetings and other staff meetings.
• Organize and participate in client entertainment/FAM's, special promotions, tours, site inspections, and tradeshows/conferences.
• Assist in creating and implementing special promotions relating to direct sales segments.
• Maximize sales occupancy and rates in conjunction with hotel operations to increase profits.
• Prospect new business using a wide variety of sales methods, including but not limited to phone calls, outside sales calls, attending tradeshow and conferences, and active participation within the industry to strengthen and expand customer base and brand awareness.
• Maximize sales occupancy and rates in conjunction with hotel operations to increase profits by increasing group and business transient room sales.
• Generate and secure business through aggressive sales efforts that will include proactive solicitation of national and local corporate business from Hyatt's National Account base.
• Establish and build successful relationships that generate sales opportunities.
• Effectively communicate client requirements, ensuring all information is accurate between client and hotel.
• Ensures business is turned over accurately and in a timely manner to ensure high-level service delivery.
• Analyze and conduct market research to fully understand competitive set, market conditions, and current trends to maximize revenue and hotel's market position.
• Negotiate, prepare and execute contracts that meet the hotel's business plan objectives.
• Problem solve and develop solutions to meet client's important requirements/needs.
• Maintain or exceed sales goals as assigned by DOSM.
• Assist the DOSM on special projects as assigned.
