    The Systems Engineering and Quality Assurance group at SK Hynix memory solutions America (SKHMS America) is offering an internship with the Reliability System Engineering team. This role provides experience in SSD reliability validation within a collaborative engineering environment.

    Job Description:

    SKHMS America's San Jose design center is a hub for SSD development and validation, driving next-generation enterprise and cloud datacenter products. As part of our growing investment in enterprise SSDs, we are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented intern to join the Reliability System Engineering team. In this role, you will support reliability validation efforts by assisting with test planning, execution, automation, and data analysis, while gaining exposure to enterprise SSD technology, validation practices, and cross-functional teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

    Responsibilities and Tasks

    • Assist in designing and executing reliability validation test plans for enterprise SSDs
    • Develop and refine automation scripts (Python, Java, or similar) to improve test efficiency and data collection.
    • Analyze SSD log data, SMART attributes, and test results to identify anomalies and trends
    • Contribute to reporting of test progress, reliability findings, and validation coverage.

    Qualifications:

    • Currently pursuing a BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
    • Experience with Python or other scripting languages for test automation.
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with server hardware, PCIe/NVMe protocols, or Linux kernel-level debugging.
    • Experience with Python based automation frameworks or data analysis.
    • Demonstrated ability to set up test environments (Linux servers, VMs, or embedded boards).
    • Strong curiosity about how systems fail and a proactive mindset in root cause analysis.
    • Experience with code revision control tools (such as Git and Perforce).

    COMPENSATION: $35/hr - $45/hr
