Job description
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Program Coordinator to support the Abdominal Imaging Diagnostic MRI Clinic Program. The Program Coordinator oversees and coordinates all aspects of the program, including faculty practice management, financial operations, and clinic workflow optimization within the Abdominal Imaging department. This role works in close partnership with the Clinic Modality Director and Department Administrator to drive operational excellence and support clinical initiatives.
The Program Coordinator acts independently, manages sensitive information, and uses sound judgment to resolve complex issues. UT MD Anderson is a leading institution focused on cancer care, research, education, and prevention. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field, with a preference for a master's degree. Candidates should bring progressive experience in program or project coordination, ideally within a clinical or patient care environment, along with demonstrated administrative and operational expertise. The typical work schedule is Monday - Friday / 8am - 5pm.

Responsibilities Facility Practice Management Collaborate with Department Administrator and Modality Medical Directors to manage faculty practice operations within the Abdominal Imaging Diagnostic MRI Clinic Build relationships with faculty and stakeholders to optimize workflow, productivity, and quality outcomes Coordinate monthly Clinical Operations Meetings including agenda development, action tracking, and attendance reporting Maintain a master calendar for faculty-related clinic events and ensure timely communication Manage the Abdominal Imaging Peer Review Conference including CME application renewals, speaker coordination, and attendance communications Serve as liaison for departmental clinical scheduling including volume projections, request approvals, and schedule publication via OpenTempo Input schedules into institutional on-call systems and distribute finalized schedules to relevant coordinators Financial Management Partner with Department Administrator to produce financial reports and decision-support materials Support annual financial reviews, account reconciliation, and budget development Perform variance analysis and explanations for financial performance Assist with supply inventory management and equipment budget planning and implementation Operations Management Act as liaison between Modality Directors, faculty, staff, and leadership teams Oversee faculty operations related to scheduling, resources, and service delivery within the clinic Implement and evaluate continuous quality improvement initiatives Analyze existing procedures and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency Develop work plans and timelines for program objectives and monitor progress Coordinate interdepartmental activities to ensure operational efficiency and policy compliance Build relationships with internal stakeholders to support data gathering and operational optimization Center Medical Director & Faculty Support Provide administrative support to Modality Directors and Faculty Leads Serve as primary liaison between physicians, clinic operations leaders, and administrative teams Compose and edit formal and informal correspondence, ensuring clarity and accuracy Support project planning by assisting with timelines, data collection, and reporting Develop and maintain tracking tools and document management systems Proofread medical and scientific documents, ensuring proper formatting and APA compliance Coordinate travel, memberships, and reimbursements within established deadlines Gather materials for scientific reports, presentations, and publications EDUCATION Required: Bachelor's Degree Business Administration or related field. Preferred: Master's Degree WORK EXPERIENCE Required: 3 years Project/program coordination experience.
