Job description

Education Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.

Clearance Requirements:

Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


General Dynamics Mission Systems has a need for a Senior Engineering Program Manager located in Bloomington, MN.

Duties and Tasks:

  • Leads the planning and ensures monitoring and control for assigned development programs
  • Responsible for Cost, Schedule, and Technical performance for all engineering efforts 
  • Ensures all project deliverables are developed with high quality and delivered on time
  • Manages the engineering related risks and opportunities of the program
  • Conducts monthly Engineering Status Reviews
  • Manages the resolution of technical issues
  • Ensures that team members are recognized for their contributions
  • Takes immediate & decisive action in dealing with technical & performance issues
  • Assists in Proposal and ROM development

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 2 years project management experience leading hardware and software development teams
  • 3 years technical experience; preferrably with embedded systems
  • Significant experience using Microsoft Project
  • Knowledge of waterfall and agile methodologies
  • Proven organizational and time management skills
  • Proven communication skills
  • Strong leadership & mentoring skills
