Responsibilities:

Receive, sort, and properly process laboratory specimens, ensuring accurate documentation and labeling.

Perform routine instrument maintenance on laboratory equipment to support smooth operations.

Prepare specimens at workstations, including building worklists, aliquoting samples, inspecting specimens for abnormalities, and inoculating or preparing slides.

Prepare reagents and media used in testing procedures.

Conduct quality assurance and quality control activities, including monitoring temperature charts and resolving pending sample lists.

Manage specimen storage and retrieval, ensuring proper tracking and organization.

Decontaminate work areas regularly and perform weekly radioactive wipe tests following safety protocols.

Change gas cylinders and maintain lab safety by following all PPE requirements and safety regulations.

Operate laboratory computer systems and PCs efficiently for data entry and record keeping.

Dispose of biohazardous waste safely, adhering to all safety guidelines.

Maintain accurate documentation, including files for department records.
