Job Summary
Responsible for providing direct tutorial, training, and instructional lab support to students and laboratory personnel in an instructionally supervised laboratory. In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position.
Essential Functions
Under limited supervision, assist students with course or laboratory assignments. Work with students individually or in small groups to demonstrate procedures and use of equipment and materials, or review classroom material.
Assist instructor with preparation of instructional materials. Set up laboratory equipment and supplies, to include chemicals and biohazards for demonstration of experiments or processes. Maintain and clean equipment. Ensure equipment is in working order and perform routine repairs.
Assist in the supervision of lab activities to ensure a safe learning environment. Adhere to lab safety program and assist with disposal of hazardous materials used in the lab in order to remain in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Provide clerical support to include ordering, cataloging, and maintaining laboratory supplies and equipment. Check out learning materials and maintain records. Conduct an annual inventory of supplies and equipment and assist with scheduling of learning facility. Assist in the preparation of reports, correspondences, and lab attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
1. Associate's Degree and two (2) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
NOTE: A copy of the transcript reflecting this required education MUST be submitted for consideration and reflect completed coursework and degrees conferred. The candidate must be fully qualified for the position at the time of application.
2. Experience providing effective customer service.
3. Effective telephone etiquette skills.
4. Proficient computer skills to include internet navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
5. Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
6. Must possess effective multi-tasking skills.

9. Experience managing files and records.
