Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Technical Writer/Editor to join our team! In this role you will get to perform integrated, multidisciplinary assessments that assess survivability of critical U.S. Air Force mission systems, infrastructures, and assets.

The Air Force Mission Assurance Assessment Team requires highly specialized technical, analytical, and investigative support services to develop and conduct comprehensive assessments of an Installation and/or Facility.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Shall support mission assurance assessment team requirements assessment reports, staffing, coordinating, and processing deliverable in accordance with MAA time line requirements.
  • The MA Technical Writer produces fact-based documents and reports with information about MAA products and services, and how they work.
  • The technical writer shall gain/maintain an understanding of MA products and/or applications and then design and write documentation to administratively support user requirements

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Familiar with mission assurance
  • 6 years experience in production and/or editing of technical documents to include specific experience in writing for non-technical audiences (relevant BS degree in science, math, information systems, or engineering can be substituted for up to two [2] years of experience only)
  • Experience providing Technical Writing support within Engineering teams
  • Experienced user of the latest release of Microsoft Office (or equivalent) products
  • Additionally, in accordance with any particular task, the candidate shall have a combination of the following skills:
  • Ability to consolidate technical inputs and analyses, and produce a logical, understandable document
  • Ability to read engineering drawings/specifications
  • Ability to interpret, absorb, and synthesize large quantities of engineering or technical information for non technical readers
  • Ability to upload content onto websites using COTS web authoring tools
  • Ability to integrate existing graphics into documents using various COTS tools
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with latest release of Microsoft Office
  • Understand the requirements of: 1) Pre-Assessment Phase activities (e.g., Mission Analysis and Pre-Site Survey (PSS) work); 2) Assessment Phase activities to include onsite vulnerability and risk assessments; and 3) Post-Assessment Phase activities (e.g., Post Analysis, Report Writing, and MAJCOM follow-up, etc.).
  • Must have an Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% per year.
  • Must have a valid US passport.

  • 10 years' experience providing Technical Writing support within System Engineering teams developing system vulnerability assessments and evaluations
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM related field
