Recess is the one-stop marketplace helping families discover and book trusted camps, classes, and programs. We partner with thousands of small businesses and schools in the US supporting their growth while helping families navigate every no-school day with ease.

About the Ambassador Program

The School & Community Ambassador Program is a flexible, part-time opportunity for parents, educators, and community connectors who are already active in their school communities.

Ambassadors help introduce Recess to schools and PTAs, activate partnerships, and support select school events all while representing Recess with joy and care!

This is not a traditional sales role. It's relationship-driven, community-first, and built for people who love connecting others to great resources.

Ways to Participate & Earn

Ambassadors may participate in one or both of the following tracks:

Event Activation (Hourly)

What you'll do

  • Represent Recess at school or PTA events (science fairs, steam nights, info nights, etc.)
  • Actively engage families
  • Share current Recess promotions and event-specific specials
  • Encourage account creation and bookings when appropriate
  • Collect emails, questions, and community feedback

Compensation

  • $20/hour
  • 2-hour minimum per event
What You Are Responsible For
  • Relationship-based introductions
  • Clear, accurate representation of Recess
  • Active engagement during events
  • Following provided process, materials, and guidance
PTA Partnership Activation (Commission-Based)

What you'll do

  • Make warm introductions to PTAs or school leadership
  • Share the Recess value proposition with your school community
  • Help activate a PTA partnership from introduction to launch
  • Coordinate with the Recess team to ensure a smooth handoff

What "Activated" means
A PTA partnership is considered activated when:

  • A partnership agreement is confirmed
  • A Recess code is created for the school
  • At least one communication is sent to families
  • At least one parent booking is completed using the school code

Compensation

  • Based on the size of the school that you lead a partnership with, you will be compensated from a range of $200-$400 per school.
Ambassador Enablement & Support

We set ambassadors up for success with:

  • Custom referral school codes
  • PTA one-pagers and marketing materials
  • Email and intro templates
  • Event briefs with goals, promos, and scripts
  • Weekly office hours with the Recess team
  • Ambassador group channel for support and updates
