Department
FAMU-FSU College of Engineering - Graduate Studies Office
Responsibilities
  • Attends graduate school fairs, engineering conferences, and undergraduate universities to represent and market the graduate programs for the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. Responsible for building relationships with prospective students and encouraging them to apply to graduate programs.
  • Provides pre and post conference planning and outreach
  • Provides information to students on graduate programs, research centers, funding initiatives, basic admissions requirements, and answers questions about college.
  • Assists prospective graduate students with finding open research opportunities at the college of engineering.
  • Conducts in-person and virtual information sessions/webinars about graduate programs.
  • Utilizes CRM systems to track leads and manage communications throughout the recruitment cycle
  • Maintains consistent follow up by email, phone, and in person, with prospective students to keep them engaged and help them move through application funnel.
  • Assists with coordination of events for prospects such as open houses and preview days.
  • Connects prospective students with faculty and staff in departments as needed.
  • Assists Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies with marketing and recruitment strategy.
  • Makes recommendations for recruiting events we should attend. Helps coordinate participation of faculty and staff in events as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned to advance the overall mission of the college.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years of experience or a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to six years.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to adhere to ethical business practices and promote ethical behavior.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to utilize problem solving skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations and the ability to interpret academic program requirements and provide advice.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
  • Knowledge of academic resources available to students, demonstrated knowledge of academic support service processes and practices.
  • Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.
  • Knowledge of university admissions processes.
  • Previous experience in sales and/or recruiting
