ASSISTANT SUPERVISOR OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Position Effective on or after July 1, 2026
Responsible for essential Accountability operational activities, including support for staff members regarding accountability and assessment matters, maintaining various databases and assessment platforms, and creating, interpreting, and analyzing student performance measures.

- Serves as the Alternate Local Accountability Coordinator (LAC), providing leadership and guidance to all stakeholders, and as a liaison with the Maryland State Department of Education and the Accountability and Implementation Board on student performance, accountability, and assessment matters.
- Serves as a leader in district data literacy, through professional learning for various stakeholders and presentations to the Board of Education.
- Delivers professional learning for school test coordinators on national, state, and local assessment programs.
- Supports school test coordinators in the preparation and administration of national, state, and local assessments, including testing platform management.
- Maintains accurate information related to graduation assessment requirements and College and Career Readiness (CCR) standards.
- Coordinates with appropriate offices on national, state, and local assessments and related data requests, including student achievement, course enrollment, dual enrollment, reporting, and survey administration.
- Provides leadership in the design, development, and maintenance of data reporting tools, including Microsoft Power BI dashboards and other visualization platforms, to ensure timely access to student performance and operational data.
- Provides leadership in the development of reports and presentations on assessment and accountability measures for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provides leadership in the interpretation of student performance metrics in support of the planning, monitoring, and evaluation of school and systemwide improvement initiatives.
- Maintains the district course catalog; resolves discrepancies; supports school-based scheduling staff; and coordinates course updates in the Student Education Planning Guide.
- Collaborates with the Office of Technology to collect, validate, store, and submit data for state and federal accountability reporting, including required file submissions to the Maryland State Department of Education.
- Participates in districtwide committees and workgroups representing the Office of Accountability.
- Assists, as appropriate, with organizing and prioritizing work assignments for Office of Accountability staff.
- Provides leadership level responsibility and decision-making for the Office of Accountability in concert with or in the absence of the Supervisor of Accountability, specifically as relates to State requirements, committee and work group representation, testing, and supervisory functions.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
SALARY
This is a twelve-month position with 20 days of annual leave. Salary range based on GRADE 2 of the FY 2025-2026 APSASHC Salary Schedule for Administrative and Supervisory Personnel.ย Starting Salary: $ 126,017 - Maximum Earnings Potential $ 152,242.
Administrators who earn 30 additional credits beyond a Master's Plus 30 will receive a $3,000 salary differential.
Administrators who earn a Doctorate shall receive an additional salary differential of $500.

FLSA: Exempt
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Hold or be eligible for an Advanced Professional Certificate or Advanced Professional License with endorsements in Supervisor of Instruction, Assistant Principal, Principal, or Administrator I.
- Five years of successful experience in public education, including experience in data analysis, assessment, accountability, or school improvement preferred.
- Demonstrated effective leadership, collaboration, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.ย
- Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office software programs including Excel and Power BI.
- Experience in data collection, management, analysis, and reporting.
- Exemplary human relation skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of customers who possess varying skill levels and technical knowledge.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
