POSITION: School Administration Manager
LOCATION: Dougherty County School System
JOB SUMMARY:
The Dougherty County School System is seeking a School Administration Manager (SAM) to assist with school operations. The School Administration Manager (SAM) plays a vital role in ensuring efficient and effective operation of the school's administrative and non-instructional functions. The SAM works closely with the principal to manage time, oversee operations, coordinate schedules, and enhance communication within the school community, enabling school leaders to focus more on instructional leadership and student outcomes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Georgia PSC Certification at the T-5 level or higher;
  2. Five (5) years of effective teaching;
  3. Knowledge of state and federal education laws;
  4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  1. Ability to effectively lead, organize, and direct the work of others;
  2. Strong decision-making ability, proven performance, and resource management skills;
  3. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
  4. Excellent leadership and organizational skills.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
School Operations & Supervision
  1. Support the principal with daily school functions, including overseeing students, events (on/off campus), discipline, and maintenance;
  2. Supervise classified (non-teaching) staff to ensure smooth operation.

Staff Support
  1. Assist and collaborate with teaching staff as needed, under the principal's guidance.

Safety & Discipline
  1. Help maintain a safe, disciplined learning environment;
  2. Manage emergencies following district and school protocols;
  3. Enforce rules and policies consistently.

Visibility & Engagement
  1. Be present and visible on campus to promote order and build relationships with students and staff.

Stakeholder Communication
  1. Assist in addressing and resolving concerns from parents, staff, students, and community members.

Professional Development
  1. Attend required meetings and training to stay informed and effective in your role.

Reporting & Documentation
  1. Prepare and deliver reports and other materials to document activities and support decision-making.

Community Projects
  1. Lead and monitor school-related community initiatives to ensure proper implementation.

Additional Duties
  1. Perform other tasks as assigned to support the school's goals and daily functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Occasional bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, repetitive fine motor activities, prolonged period of standing, walking and sitting is expected;
  2. Vision, hearing and verbal communications are essential functions of this position;
  3. Must meet deadlines with severe time constraints;
  4. Occasionally the position requires the employee to work irregular or extended hours and meet multiple demands from several people.
