ABOUT THE ROLE
IntelliSource is seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager to own all front-half inbound operations at a fulfillment and distribution center on a fixed-term contract engagement. Reporting directly to the Building Manager, this role carries full accountability for receiving, putaway, inventory control, and replenishment - the foundation that everything downstream depends on.
This is a senior individual contributor and people leader role. The right candidate brings deep inbound operations expertise, a proven ability to build and develop supervisory teams, and the discipline to drive KPI performance from day one. They are equally comfortable coaching an associate on proper putaway technique and presenting dock-to-stock metrics to building leadership.
Contract Duration: Immediate start through January 31, 2027. Project completion bonus equivalent to 20% of total salary paid upon meeting specific project milestones or the final delivery.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Inbound Operations Ownership
    • Own all front-half operations outcomes including inbound receiving, unloading, product verification, putaway, and slotting
    • Ensure dock-to-stock SLAs are consistently met with high accuracy across all inbound volume - daily, weekly, and during peak periods
    • Manage appointment scheduling, carrier coordination, and inbound labor planning to match daily receipt volume
    • Maintain inventory accuracy through disciplined receiving procedures, proper location management, and active cycle count participation
    • Partner with the outbound team to ensure replenishment cadences support pick zone availability and order fulfillment SLAs

  • Supervisory Leadership
    • Lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of inbound supervisors and frontline leads across all shifts
    • Set clear daily and weekly performance expectations; conduct regular coaching conversations and formal performance reviews
    • Build a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the inbound department
    • Partner with the Building Manager on headcount planning, scheduling, and staffing model optimization

  • Safety & Compliance
    • Champion a safety-first culture on the inbound floor - model and enforce PPE compliance, forklift/equipment safety, ergonomic best practices, and housekeeping standards
    • Facilitate daily safety topics and actively participate in building safety walks and hazard identification processes
    • Respond to and properly document all injuries, near-misses, and safety observations in the inbound area
    • Partner with the Building Manager to implement corrective actions from safety audits

  • Train-the-Trainer Program
    • Serve as a certified trainer and active champion of IntelliSource's Train-the-Trainer (TtT) program within the inbound department
    • Ensure all inbound supervisors and leads are certified and executing structured onboarding, skill development, and performance coaching for new associates
    • Monitor trainer effectiveness; update inbound-specific training materials to reflect process changes, productivity standards, and safety updates
    • Identify high-potential frontline associates and develop clear pathways for advancement into lead and supervisory roles

  • KPI Management & Reporting
    • Own inbound KPI performance; review metrics daily and drive corrective action plans when performance falls below target
    • Deliver accurate inbound performance reports to the Building Manager on a defined cadence
    • Lead root cause analysis for inbound performance gaps; implement and track structured improvement initiatives
    • Maintain accurate WMS records, timekeeping, and compliance documentation across all inbound operations

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS)
  • The completion bonus is tied to achieving 85% or greater across the following KPIs at project close:
    • Units Per Hour (UPH) throughout Building
    • Order & Receive Accuracy Rate
    • On-Time Shipment Rate
    • Dock-to-Stock Cycle Time
    • Inventory Accuracy
    • Safety Recordable Incident Rate (RIR)
    • Associate Retention (90-Day)Train-the-Trainer Certification Rate
    • Schedule Adherence / Attendance Rate

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Required
    • 5+ years of progressive operations leadership with direct accountability for inbound / front-half operations at a fulfillment center, distribution center, or comparable high-volume facility
    • Proven track record managing inbound teams of 30+ associates across multiple shifts
    • Deep knowledge of receiving, putaway, inventory control, cycle counting, and replenishment processes
    • Hands-on experience with WMS platforms - proficiency in receiving, putaway, and inventory modules required
    • Strong OSHA/safety compliance background with documented experience reducing inbound-area incidents
    • Experience participating in or delivering a structured Train-the-Trainer program

  • Preferred
    • Prior experience in a senior-level contract or project-based operations role
    • Familiarity with slotting optimization, cross-docking, and vendor compliance programs
    • Experience managing inbound operations during facility ramp-up or startup phases
    • Lean, 5S, or Six Sigma awareness; experience with continuous improvement methodologies
