Job description

We are seeking Lab Operations Associate to join IQVIA Laboratories at Valencia, CA.

Job Summary:
The Lab Operations Associate supports the routine receipt, inspection, and processing of clinical specimens to help maintain efficient laboratory operations. This role also assists with shipment handling, inventory support, workstation organization, and adherence to safety and quality procedures.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Receive consignments and shipments and assist with specimen intake activities
  • Open shipments, review patient information forms, and escalate missing, incorrect, or damaged materials to senior staff
  • Verify that specimens have been fully removed from kit packaging through secondary checks
  • Dispose of or recycle kit shipping supplies in accordance with site procedures
  • Support equipment upkeep, inventory activities, and general workstation clean-up
  • Respond to after-hour alarms and other job-critical operational needs as required
  • Perform administrative duties and maintain an organized work area in line with management expectations
What We Are Looking For:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow
The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed for This Role:
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients
  • Strong attention to detail when handling clinical specimens, shipment materials, and documentation
  • Ability to follow company procedures, safety requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines
  • Ability to stay organized and manage routine tasks in a fast-paced laboratory environment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.
