Job description

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
Responsible for the prompt, courteous and accurate scheduling of patient appointments.
Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of medical experience, preferably in a hospital-based Imaging department
  • Excellent command of verbal and written English
  • Excellent communication, customer service and organization skills in interacting with various members of the healthcare team and/or patients
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work independently and prioritize as needed
  • Ability to problem solve and address scheduling related issues
  • Proficiency in technology, including computer, scanner, phone, fax and copy machines
Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, preferably Imaging related
  • Familiarity with Meditech
  • Prior experience with Cerner a plus

Essential Job Functions:
(List the specific duties of this job - try to group, no more than 25):
  • Monitors fax work queue for incoming requests from non-Sturdy providers and schedules examinations with provider's office/patients.
  • Works with Imaging technologists to ensure appropriate scheduling of exams/procedures.
  • Coordinates multiple exam requests to ensure exams are performed in a timely fashion.
  • Displays ability to multi-task and follow-up on work in progress.
  • Responsible for general and secondary tasks as needed or assigned.
  • Utilizing the EMR and working from a scheduling request pool, processes requests to book patients for their imaging/EEG studies.
  • Notifies referring provider of any issues/questions that may arise in the booking process and works to resolve any issues.
  • Confirms that appropriate insurance preauthorization have been obtained and documents detailed information.
  • Contacts patients via telephone to inform them of their scheduled appointment date(s) and time(s). Relays any appropriate exam requirements and/or preps.
  • Notifies referring provider's office via pool of patient's appointment information.
  • Answers incoming calls and assists patients and referring provider offices in booking examinations.

Salary Range: $16.63-$24.99

A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education. This is not inclusive of the value Sturdy Health's benefits package (if applicable), which includes among other benefits, healthcare/dental/vision and retirement. For annual salaries this is based on full-time employment.
