Job description

Dimeo Construction Company is hiring a Schedule Manager. Founded in 1930 as a family-owned contractor, Dimeo has grown into one of New England's leading construction organizations and is consistently ranked among the Top 100 Construction Managers by Engineering News-Record. With more than 300 professionals across full-service offices in Boston, Providence, and New Haven, we provide expert preconstruction and construction services across healthcare, corporate, life sciences/technology, higher education, K-12, and residential projects. This opportunity is a full time in-office position located at our main office in Johnston, RI, with day travel throughout New England.

The Schedule Manager partners with project teams to build, maintain, and communicate the contract schedule from pursuit through closeout. You'll translate design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities into a clear path forward-helping teams make informed decisions and deliver predictable outcomes.

At Dimeo, we build the best buildings, relationships, and professionals. We value integrity, respect, diversity and inclusion-and we expect open communication, ownership, and a "think safe...work safe" mindset on every project.

What You'll Do

  • Support pursuits and preconstruction by developing high-level schedules and milestone plans.
  • Partner with Client Executives, estimating/preconstruction, and A/E teams to align sequencing and expectations.
  • Contribute to GMP and logistics planning with a focus on risk awareness and schedule realism.

Schedule Management (During Construction)

  • Develop, manage, and execute the project schedule in collaboration with the Project Manager and Superintendent.
  • Incorporate design deliverables, submittals, procurement, construction activities, and commissioning into an integrated plan.
  • Provide regular updates and clear schedule narratives highlighting progress, constraints, and upcoming handoffs.
  • Analyze the critical path, identify impacts, and adjust logic based on field conditions-proposing recovery options when needed.
  • Maintain schedule data within project scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6) and coordinate cost/resource inputs as required.
  • Evaluate schedule risk factors (labor, productivity, inspections, material availability, weather, utilities, logistics) and communicate mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare monthly schedule status reporting for leadership.

Develop People & Relationships

  • Coach and strengthen scheduling capability across project teams (PMs, supers, engineers), sharing best practices and templates.
  • Invest in your own growth through technical and leadership development.

What You Bring

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with strong follow-through and attention to detail.
  • Comfort working both in the office and in the field, with day travel to projects in CT/RI/MA/NH, 2-3 days per week.
  • Working knowledge of construction sequencing and the ability to facilitate schedule development with project teams.
  • Strong documentation and organization skills; clear communication (written, verbal, and in meetings).
  • Proficiency with scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6) and common project platforms (preferred).

Why You'll Love Working at Dimeo

  • A people-first culture where integrity, respect, and teamwork guide how we work.
  • Meaningful work across a diverse project portfolio throughout New England.
  • An environment that encourages asking questions, speaking openly, and taking ownership.
  • Commitment to professional development and long-term career growth.

Reports To

  • Sr. Project Schedule Manager
  • Work collectively with the Preconstruction Managers, Director of Estimating and Director of Purchasing throughout the preconstruction phase.
  • Work Collectively with Sr. Vice President of Operations, Sr. Vice President of Construction, and the project teams to achieve company goals.
