Position Description Role Summary:

  • The Scheduler Support is responsible for assisting in the planning, preparation, and maintenance of production schedules for industrial and commercial products. This role supports a team to ensure that the sequence and lead time of each operation are accurately established to guarantee on-time delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

• Production Scheduling: Assist in developing and grooming production schedules for bids and preplanning newly awarded contracts.

• Contract Review: Review contract changes during the bid phase or post-award to determine impacts on schedule.

• Coordination & Collaboration: Partner with department supervisors, the Program Management Office (PMO), Estimating, Contracts, and Crafts to provide executable schedules.

• Problem Solving: Assist in developing effective solutions for scheduling challenges of increasing scope and complexity.

• Accountability: Ensure all projects and goals are completed on time, without error, and in accordance with company policies and practices. Work Environment:

• Primary work is conducted in an office setting.

• Occasional travel to customer work sites or internal company locations may be required.

• High level of collaboration with cross-functional teams including PMO, Estimating, Contracts, and other member of the Planning Team. Performance Expectations:

• Work is reviewed for professional judgment, overall adequacy, and accuracy.

• Full accountability for the successful completion of project goals and deliverables.



Skills Required Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in scheduling software and the Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills specifically in Excel, Word and SharePoint.

• Analytical Ability: Ability to analyze complex data sets and make informed decisions to optimize production flow.

• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration across different organizational levels.

• Independence & Teamwork: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while remaining a reliable team player who contributes to collective project success.

• Industry Knowledge: A basic understanding of general industry practices, techniques, terminology and standards.


Experience Required

  • Industry Experience: 2+ years of experience specifically within the ship maintenance industry.
  • Computer Skills Experience: 2+ years of Advanced Excel experience is necessary to keep up with pace of department


Education Required Education:

An Associate’s degree in a related industry field (2+ years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
