Job description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is recruiting for a Planner/Scheduler in Houston, TX. This is a 6-month assignment contract position with possibility for extension, but not guaranteed, working within a Wood Client Office.   We are currently seeking a high-energy professional who is customer-focused with sound business acumen and problem-solving skills to join our dynamic organization as a Scheduler. Ideal candidates should be natural team players, eager to learn and grow, and have an eye for innovation and continuous improvement. Schedulers are responsible for optimizing flow by coordinating marine and terminal logistics for base oil movement. You will work closely with sales teams and third-party customers to create and approve nominations for movement, produce shipping schedules and manage inventory.

Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required

  • Lead day-to-day scheduling and operations for Logistics teams, including activities such as loading/discharging, quality-control, loss prevention and forecasting analysis
  • Manage nominations for marine orders to/from both 3rd party and internal customers; monitor and execute base oil-movement
  • Partner with Finished Lubricants Terminals to manage physical inventory positions and recommend load/discharge-activity based on interactions with third parties
  • Partner with Clients Shipping Co. to manage shipping contracts
  • Monitor marine and terminal operations to optimize schedules
  • Analyze data and generate Sales-force reports as required for the Sales team
  • Engage with internal and external industry experts and maintain strong relationships and lines of communication
  • Collaborate on and communicate operational costs, optimization initiatives and best practice learnings
  • Champion incident-free operations and continuous improvements
Skills / Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or 2+ years Supply Chain or related experience On-call availability for evening, weekend, and holiday scheduling requirements Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on Operational Excellence and delivering results Demonstrated organizing and planning skills Demonstrated ability to analyze data to draw valid conclusions, identify root causes and solve problems Demonstrated strong communication skills, ability to communicate at various levels within the organization Demonstrated influencing skills, the ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook. A background in SAP would be a plus. Able to learn and adapt to new systems quickly and eagerly

Preferred Qualifications/Skills: 2+ years of experience in the energy, manufacturing, transportation, supply chain and/or finance Scheduling experience in fast-paced environment Familiarity with Sales force or similar data driven systems and analytics
