Job description

Role: Sharepoint Admin

Location: San Antonio, TX (Onsite)
Duration: 12+ month

Job Summary

Ability to deliver creative, customized solutions to support modernization and automation efforts for a utility/energy company. Expertise with migration efforts from SharePoint on-premise to SharePoint Online (SPO) required. Experience working with analysts on project development and visual design, including utilizing business resources to improve business productivity and support operations. This role is responsible for designing, testing, and maintaining software and programs for managing Information Technology assets, including managing processes for tracking, updating, quality assurance, and reporting from IT asset records and databases. The role also handles configuring and supporting Microsoft-based infrastructure and enterprise application installation, configuration, design, and troubleshooting.

The successful candidate will consult with support teams, help desks, customers, and other technical staff to resolve problems, coordinate and operate maintenance activities for workstations, identify recurring issues, and recommend steps to reduce the severity or frequency of problems. This position requires maintaining primary technical programming skills, developing new skills as needed, and establishing best practices and guidelines. Responsibilities include managing area systems such as inventory, licensing, patching, deployment, and reporting, as well as planning transitions of development and production environments to new technologies. The role also involves monitoring system performance, managing system data for efficiency, and studying system requirements for proper installation methods. Data analysis and reporting on update compliance, computer hardware, mobile hardware, software utilization, and related areas is also required, along with managing software availability for support groups and customers.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Core responsibilities focus on both strategic and operational/tactical aspects of the organization
  • Responsible for Tier 3 technical system support, assisting Tier 2 technicians in problem-solving
  • Coordinate with customers to define and satisfy application package requirements
  • Participate in planning and implementation of project and enhancement initiatives
  • Create, configure, test, deploy, and monitor software releases, operating systems, security patches, and compliance settings
  • Implement, configure, support, and maintain MEMCM (SCCM), Intune, SharePoint, Citrix VDI, and M365
  • Administer, configure, test, deploy, and monitor mobile data management (MDM) tools
  • Administer, configure, test, deploy, and monitor software asset management (SAM) tools
  • Ensure adherence to established and documented processes, procedures, and risk mitigation efforts
  • Daily monitoring and reconciliation of incident and service request tickets assigned to queue
  • Document procedures for installing packaged applications
  • Plan and assign lower-level analysts to given projects or tasks
  • Interpret and apply organizational policy, and recommend changes in procedures
  • Schedule deployments in accordance with project schedules, work effort timetables, and Change Acceptance Board (CAB) approval
  • Monitor and report results of deployments
  • Document all work performed in the ticketing tool, logging time and effort
  • Develop alternative solutions for decision-making that support organizational goals and budget constraints
  • Operate with substantial latitude for independent action in setting objectives and deciding how to proceed
  • Prepare Change records for CAB review and approval
  • Provide knowledge transfer, coaching, and mentoring to technical staff
  • Serve as the highest-level subject matter/technical expert, which may include limited supervisory responsibilities
  • Perform other project and process improvement initiatives as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Business, Management, Finance, or another quantitative field, along with extensive related experience, or relevant certifications
  • Ability to set priorities, organize work, and make occasional exceptions
  • Ability to multi-task various critical work assignments in a fast-paced environment in a professional manner
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for interaction with all levels of personnel
  • Comprehensive knowledge of a particular field of specialization to complete complex assignments

  • Experience with SQL, SSRS, Power BI, M365 Suite, AD, Group Policy, Certificate Services, IIS, and scripting
  • Experience supporting utility construction software is a plus
