Job description

Overview

We work collaboratively to provide compassionate care and utilize evidence based practice to improve outcomes - to every patient, every time.

Responsibilities

A CT Tech (Computed Tomography Technologist) operates specialized scanners to create detailed cross-sectional images of the body, requiring them to prepare and position patients, administer contrast agents, adjust technical settings, ensure radiation safety, and monitor patient comfort and condition during exams, all while collaborating with radiologists to diagnose conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Explaining scanning procedures to patients and providing reassurance and support as required.
  • Appropriately positioning patients to scan specific areas of their bodies
  • Assists physicians in performing special imaging procedures in the CT Scan department.
  • Demonstrates adherence to radiation safety practice.
  • Responsible for completing a full caseload assignment.
  • Using computerized tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients' internal organs and tissues.
  • Sterilizing radiologic equipment to ensure the safety of patients.
  • Correctly interpreting doctors' written scanning instructions.
  • Evaluating CT scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality.

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed/registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Must have current NYS license to practice 
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in CT Scan preferred.
  • NYS IV Contrast certification 
  • Must demonstrate high tech skills and be able to take scheduled call rotation.
