Data Engineer-Engineering

We are seeking experienced Senior SAS ETL Developers / SAS ETL Developers to support large-scale migration initiatives from SAS GRID to SAS Viya for enterprise clients, primarily within the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain.

The role requires strong expertise in SAS ETL development, SAS Base programming, SAS Macros, batch processing, and platform modernization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working in SAS GRID environments and supporting migration of existing ETL workflows, and batch jobs to SAS Viya environments without CAS programming.

Candidates should possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, along with the ability to work closely with architecture, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure seamless migration and modernization of SAS workloads.

For Senior SAS ETL Developer

  • 8–10 years of experience in SAS development and ETL implementation
  • Strong experience in SAS GRID environments
  • Hands-on experience with SAS migration or modernization initiatives
  • Good understanding of SAS Viya architecture and execution model
  • Experience coordinating with global onshore/offshore teams
  • Prior client-facing experience preferred

For SAS ETL Developer

Responsibilities

SAS GRID to SAS Viya Migration

  • Participate in migration of SAS workloads, ETL jobs, and batch processes from SAS GRID to SAS Viya.
  • Analyze existing SAS GRID environments, ETL workflows, scheduling dependencies, and data pipelines.
  • Convert and validate SAS programs, macros, and ETL processes for SAS Viya compatibility.
  • Support migration of SAS Enterprise Guide projects, batch scripts, and shared libraries.
  • Ensure migrated jobs execute efficiently within the SAS Viya compute environment.
  • Identify compatibility issues and recommend remediation approaches.

Migration Planning & Execution

  • Assist in migration assessments, inventory analysis, and dependency mapping.
  • Support development of migration plans, timelines, and execution strategies.
  • Participate in migration testing, reconciliation, and deployment activities.
  • Identify migration risks and support mitigation planning.

Quality Assurance & Validation

  • Perform code validation and reconciliation between SAS GRID and SAS Viya outputs.
  • Conduct unit testing, system testing, and parallel run validations.
  • Troubleshoot migration and ETL-related issues.
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and process integrity throughout migration activities.

Stakeholder & Client Engagement

  • Collaborate with business users, data teams, infrastructure teams, and architects.
  • Provide regular updates on migration progress and issue resolution.
  • Support client discussions and technical walkthroughs as needed.
