Job Title
Materials Engineering Intern
Works in assigned area assisting with projects or work overload. This job is to be used with current Bachelors or Masters Degree students.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Under general supervision: you will support strategic efforts for CoorsTek's internal powder production group with a focus on ceramic powder processing and characterization. This will include new material development and process improvements while adhering to/fostering the company's safety culture. This will require documentation and data organization (physical & digital), sample preparation / characterization testing, independent research or literature review, and data compilation. You may lead a small, short-term project. This is a very hands-on role, requiring technician-level work . This role will require a presentation to Management with project results at the end of the summer.
Education:
Current Junior or Senior in a Bachelor's degree program, or Master's Degree Student; preferred programs Ceramics, Chemical, and/or Materials Engineering.
Experience:
  • Prior work industry or laboratory experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Word
  • Statistical software experience preferred (MiniTab, JMP, SAS)
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Great attention to detail as well as excellent listening skills
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • Takes initiative with assigned tasks
  • Comfortable asking questions and working with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
  • Must have a good work ethic
  • Must be prompt and diligent

Requirements:
  • Adhere to all company safety standards
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Target Hiring Range
Hourly: USD 17.86 - USD 21.51
