About the job
We are looking for a knowledgeable and passionate architect who appreciates solving complex and strategic challenges across a diverse set of technologies. They will have the opportunity to envision our future state and the responsibility to educate our organization where we are going and why. A successful architect will serve as both the compass and the conscience for the Customer Intelligence organization.
As a Principal Cloud Architect- Customer Intelligence, you will:
  • Serve as the principal advisor to the Customer Intelligence organization on matters of architecture and system design.
  • Facilitate conversations with stakeholders to discover requirements, gather context, uncover limitations, and understand business objectives.
  • Advocate for their recommendations, promote understanding of their design decisions, provide oversight and guidance throughout the planning and execution of their vision
  • Plans evolutionary paths for SAS software architectures, incorporating dependent third-party architectural changes and new technology adoption
  • Creates, maintains, and organizes detailed documentation and visualizations about technical designs with supporting justification for architectural and design choices.
  • Influences, arbitrates, and/or enforces design decisions that have a broad impact across projects, teams, and products.
  • Provides technical guidance on methodologies, frameworks, and best practices to developers to encourage the flow of information and promote understanding among product teams.
  • Enforces consistency in code design and practice, ensuring the technical aspects of applications and products produced by R&D adhere to the strategic goals of SAS.

Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related quantitative field
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering
  • Demonstrated Expertise in AWS, Cloud Engineering, and SaaS Architectures
  • Expertise around Kubernetes, Containerization, Databases, Kafka, Lambda, Git
  • Experience Developing Microservices, Web Applications, and REST Interfaces
  • Knowledge of common data structures and experience working with large data sources
  • Familiarity with Industry Standards Relating to Security and SRE
  • Awareness of AI Technologies and Understanding of Effective Integration Paradigms
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
